Setting Intentions with Grandmother Moon

Working with the moon when you are setting goals brings in a whole new dimension of help. It means that you are working with the flow of the natural world rather than against it.

The best time to start a new project, start a new habit, start anything new is on or right after the new moon. The new moon, or the black moon is like the womb or like fertile soil. It is a time of growth. So you put your intention, your seed, into the fertile soil of the dark moon and watch it expand with the moon.

Every day the moon is getting brighter and and the seed you planted has perfect conditions to grow.

New Moon – Intention Time!

So what is the best way to use this lunar power? Every New Moon it is good to set aside some time to decide what you want to bring into your life over the next month. The days just before the new moon are great for going over the last month. To do a little review of how the last month went. What did you do well? Where do you have room for improvement? After doing this you can then decide on what you want to focus on over the next month. It is best to be very clear on what you want to bring in and to write down your intentions.

Full Moon – Good Riddance Time!

Is there anything in your life that you would prefer to see the back of? Some people that only take and give you heartache? recurrent patterns of behaviour or thoughts that you would love to get out of your life for good?

The full moon is the perfect time to set an intention to say goodbye to people, situations or thought patterns. You can imagine that you put whatever it is that you want to get rid of into the light of the full moon and then everyday as the moon gets smaller your troubles are disappearing with the light of the sun.
